What you get with GDN

GEOCOM Developer Network (GDN) is essentially comprised of:

  • GDN Platform: In addition to the discussion forum for GDN members, the platform offers a comprehensive, central knowledge base, as well as detailed documentation and examples relating to all aspects of GEONIS.
  • GDN Studio: This is a collection of software tools, integrated in a uniform environment to support configurations and developments.

In addition to access to the central knowledge base and GDN Studio, a GDN subscription gives you a basic GEONIS user license for the scope defined within the framework of GDN (non-commercial development license). The required ESRI licenses are not included in a GDN subscription; these can be procured however via the corresponding programs of ESRI (ESRI Developer Network EDN).

GDN Platform

The platform is the central starting point for all GDN-relevant issues. It offers the GDN user the ability to discuss problems and exchange solutions with other users in a dedicated discussion forum. In addition, comprehensive documentation with illustrative examples and improvements are available for download. The comprehensive GEONIS knowledge base and associated "enabling" technologies are also available on the GDN platform.

Configurations in the markup language XML are the basis for all GEONIS specialist applications. Consequently, understanding these concepts and procedures is key to working optimally with GEONIS configurations. The documentation guides interested users through the fundamentals and concepts of GEONIS and supports them in the implementation of their requirements. The documentation is not aimed solely at beginners but also at experienced professional users. The latter will find countless tips and tricks as well as solutions to difficult questions here.

GDN Studio

GDN Studio is the development environment for configuration work in GEONIS. Using aids and wizards, expert applications can be designed and implemented easily.
GDN Studio supports the user with a graphic interface for the configuration of attribute masks and menus. Using media wizards, expert applications can be created quickly, easily and without XML know-how in just a few steps. Therefore, all expert applications can be simply processed in a high-performance and consistent GIS framework.
